Spring Term 2026- Week 5
DINOSAURS - CARNIVORES OR HERBIVORES (6.2.2026)
*STARS OF THE WEEK*
From now on 'Stars of the Week' will be included in the private email to parents.
Dear Parents,
Week 2 of Dinosaurs and we are enjoying it so much there will be a week 3. We have never seen so many dinosaur related items at Pebbles to show and share. We particularly loved Franklin's book 'The Dinosaur that Pooped a Monster' and his dinosuar egg number game. We loved them so much we have ordered them for Pebbles, plus a few more things that should arrive next week.
The children loved the dinosaur swamp that they made with cornflour and green food colouring. Unfortunately due to the weather we haven't had lots of charge to play with it, so hopefully, we will next week.
In P.E. the children pretended to be T-Rex, stegosaurus and Pterodactylus. They were particularly good at being T-Rexs with short arms and claws.
Stevie found a game on the tablet called 'Carnivores or Herbivores'. The children sorted the dinosaurs into groups with visual aids from the pretend kitchen of a chicken leg and burger for the carnivores and lettuce and grapes for the herbivores. We also sort the dinosaurs into tall, short and babies and made them enclosures.
The most exciting thing to happen this week, was the birth of our baby T-Rex. He is so cute, but he has to stay with his mummy for now as he is very small. We voted on his name. 10 children voted for Terry and 5 voted for Teethy so Terry it is. We will have more cuddles next week when he is a little older.
Next week, we will continue with our dinosaur theme. We didn't get around to being palaeontologist this week as the weather was so wet, so we will be finding our dinosaur skulls in the sand next week. We are going to make edible dinosaur nest (a little cooking); we will be making up our own dinosaur song; playing our new dinosaur games and for craft we will be making dinosaur masks.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Pebbles team.
