SETTLING IN TO OUR NEW ENVIRONMENT (12.09.2025)

*STARS OF THE WEEK*

***I have settled brilliantly or I am a brilliant big Pebble….***

Morven - You have been a brilliant big Pebble since we have been back.  You have been wonderful with the new children - being kind and saying comforting things when needed and you are still amazing at tidying-up!

Clover - You maybe smaller than lots of our big Pebbles but you are so good at listening to the teachers, playing nicely with others and your manners are superb!

Morgan - You are one of our little Pebbles but you have settled so brilliantly that you are already like a big one.  You sit on the blanket and listen to the teachers, get your shoes, sit brilliantly at snack and lunch-time, so all of the teachers are really proud of you!

Dear Parents,

Our main focus for this week has been settling in our new children and introducing some of our old routines as well as enjoying some of the features of our new environment.  Although, there are still a few tears in the mornings, the new children are starting to get used to the Pebbles routines and lots of them really enjoy being in the new outdoor space.  As much as the big Pebbles are enjoying our new space they voted to go into the old Pebbles garden on Tuesday afternoon where they can still access the slide, goals and the old mud kitchen, etc.  What lucky children they are to have access to two outdoor areas.

We very much like the smart screen in our classroom as we can play dances and songs on it (including the 'Time to tidy up song') that the children can see and hear clearly.  Much better than the little tablet.

We also managed to reinstate P.E. in the school hall on Tuesday with the big Pebbles, Stevie and Rebecca and it was lovely to leave the little Pebbles with Mandy and Martha to have some quiet time in the Pebbles area.

Our first walk took place on Friday morning when we went collecting signs of Autumn.  We found some great leaves for printing next week and lots of conkers and acorns.

Next week we will start our topic on Autumn, using the items we collected in our craft activities.  We will be starting to learn a new action song - 'I'm a acorn small and round (I'm a nut).  We will be going to the forest school site to see if we can harvest some apples. Unfortunately, the blackberries are not great this year, so sadly no apple and blackberry crumble for us.  We will also be looking at the Autumn items we collect under the microscrope and encouraging new vocabulary to describe what we see.

Have a lovely weekend.
