*STARS OF THE WEEK*
***I am brilliant and lovely….***
Morgan - Wow you have amazed all the teachers and mummy by using the toliet this week, we are so proud of you!
Ambrose - You have been fantastic using the potty, taking yourself and pulling your joggers down and up.
River - You are such a kind lovely girl. You brought in little chocolate caterpillars for your birthday which were yummy and when Florence dropped her bunny you picked it straight up and gave it back to her.
Dear Parents,
What an Autumn collection we had this week. There were conkers and their shells, acorns, walnuts, leaves and apples (kindly picked by Olivia and Poppy so afternoon snack. The children enjoyed look at the items under the microscrope to see them in more detail e.g. the veins in the leaves, the lines in the walnut case and the spikes on the conker shells. By opening the walnut cases we were able to talk to the children about decay as unfortunately they were definitely not edible. We used this expereince to help the children understand what magnifying means and to add new descriptive words to their vocabulary.
Stevie and the children out did themselves during the craft activity this week. The display tree now has a wonderful fox and badger underneath it and lots of little owls made by the children out of....you guessed it toilet rolls! We just need to add a squirrel.
The Autumn collection has also been a feature of our outdoor play in the builders tray. They have been multi-functional - transferred from container to container, scooped up with spoons and ladles, used to make a dinosaur world and as part of a painting activity.
Next week we will be continuing to learn our new action song - 'I'm a acorn small and round (I'm a nut). We will ask the childen what they would like to do next week. Other than we still haven't picked apples we have covered the Autumn so it is over to the children to be our inspiration for next week.
Have a lovely weekend.
The Pebbles team.
