So much has happened this week I don't know where to start! We have a new member of staff called Amy. She is an apprentice that has already completed 10 months of her apprentiship. We are so grateful that she approached us when she did as we will be moving into the new building on Monday 15th June. This is very exciting but there is an awful lot to do. Having Amy with us, who has settled in at Pebbles so quickly it is like she has always been here, has helped enormously. She has a lovely calm manner with the children and is clearly learning more and more about how we work at Pebbles everyday.
We have seen Reverend Claire twice this week. On Monday at the Forest School site where we made a little garden and then on Thursday when she brought small vegetables in, she had grown at home for the children to pull and to learn that vegetables need good soil, water and sunshine to grow big and healthy.
Despite the weather this week we managed to get to see our vegetables growing on Friday. It is amazing what a good bit of sun and rain can do. We had to pull some out that had grown so big the lettuce and peas were struggling. All sorted now.
On Tuesday during our usual P.E. session we started practising for sports day - WEDNESDAY 17th JUNE.
As the children have loved the rainbow theme we are continuing with this focus. The children have identified two different fruits for the each colour in the rainbow for snack next week. We will continue to identify the special qualities of the different colourd fruits and veggies and how they help our bodies. We have put actions to each colour to help us remember. For craft we will be copying Ivy's idea of turning a stick into a rainbow wand.
